Launch of the newest edition of “485 Days at Majdanek” in Warsaw
The State Museum at Majdanek and History Meeting House cordially invite to the launch of the book “485 dni na Majdanku” [485 Days at Majdanek]. The newest Museum publication is the third edition of memoirs by Jerzy Kwiatkowski but for the first time it is free from censorship and excessive editorial modifications. The accounts written by a Polish political prisoner of KL Lublin are one of the most important reports on the camp functioning.
The event will be held on September 11, 2018, at 6 p.m., in the History Meeting House at ul. Karowa 20 in Warsaw. Admission free.
Apart from Dorota Niedziałkowska from the State Museum at Majdanek, editor of the book, the meeting will be participated by Zbigniew Gluza, chairman of the Karta Foundation, Maciej Siekierski, curator of European Collections at the Hoover Institution, and dr Bartłomiej Krupa, specialist in camp literature from the Institute of Literary Research at the Polish Academy of Sciences. Eric Wakin, director of the Hoover Institution at the Stanford University, will also take floor. The meeting will be hosted by Krzysztof Banach from the State Museum at Majdanek.
