PAWIAK – MAJDANEK – AUSCHWITZ – BOOK PROMOTION
On 14 November 2024, at 5:00 PM, a promotion of the latest publication containing the memoirs of Bolesław Burski „Jasieńczyk”, a former prisoner of the Gestapo Pawiak prison in Warsaw, and later two German concentration camps: Majdanek and Auschwitz, will take place in the scholarly reading room of the Hieronim Łopaciński Provincial Public Library in Lublin.
The book "Pawiak – Majdanek – Auschwitz" was created in cooperation between the State Museum at Majdanek and the Prószyński i S-ka publishing house, based on previously unpublished archival material.
The meeting dedicated to the author and his memoirs will be hosted by Marta Grudzińska, who will ask questions to the researching editor of the book, Anna Wójcik, and Dorota Niedziałkowska, responsible for the editorial works.
Bolesław Burski (1905–1984), a legionnaire in the Polish Legions[ŁM1] , scoutmaster, member of the Polish Socialist Party, soldier of the Home Army, and a horticulture engineer by profession. He was born in Warsaw, but in his later life became deeply rooted in Silesia’s Dąbrowa Górnicza.
On that day, the publication will be available for purchase at a lower price.
