150 visitors took part in the presentation, special guided tours, and workshops held by the Museum Education Department.

This year’s event was dedicated to Jadwiga Ankiewicz, whose 100th birthday will be in 2026. She was incarcerated in KL Lublin as a teenager between January and May 1943. She secretly kept a diary, which is a valuable source of information about the camp.

On 14 June, a presentation was given on the history of Jadwiga, her diary and the Ankiewicz family. Afterwards, the participants, accompanied by staff from the Education Department, walked to the Monument-Gate, where they laid flowers. The final part of the event was a themed guided tour of the former camp grounds, based on excerpts from the teenager’s diary. The groups followed in her footsteps, also visiting places not usually accessible to visitors.

On 15 June, six Year 8 classes from Primary School No. 28 named after the Sons of the Lublin Region Regiment in Lublin took part in participatory workshops dedicated to Jadwiga Ankiewicz. Drawing on extracts from her diary, the pupils had the opportunity to learn about the realities of life in the camps through the eyes of a teenager. The session was complemented by a short presentation on family history and a discussion on the fate of young people during the World War II.
