§1 General information
1. The State Museum at Majdanek and its branches in Bełżec and Sobibór may be visited either individually or in groups.
2. It is not advisable for children under 14 to visit the grounds and buildings of the former camps at Majdanek, in Bełżec and in Sobibór.
3. Admission to the Museum is free of charge.
4. The last visitors are admitted to the State Museum at Majdanek and its branches in Bełżec and Sobibór one hour before the closing time.
5. The last admission to the Museum and Memorial in Bełżec, the Museum and Memorial in Sobibór, as well as to the main exhibition (barrack no. 62) at the State Museum at Majdanek is possible half an hour before closing time..
6. The details concerning the opening hours, visiting the permanent historical exhibition and temporary exhibitions can be found on information boards, in the museum information centres and on the Museum’s website.
7. The State Museum at Majdanek, the Museum and Memorial in Bełżec, and the Museum and Memorial in Sobibór do not run a cloakroom or left luggage office.
8. For safety reasons, due to conservation work or in other special circumstances, access to certain areas and buildings on the Museum grounds may be limited or entirely restricted by the Director’s decision.
§2 Order regulations
1. While staying on the grounds of the State Museum at Majdanek, the Museum and Memorial in Bełżec, and the Museum and Memorial in Sobibór please respect the sites and wear suitable clothes for necropolis and memorial site.
2. While visiting the Museum please obey the recommendations of the guides, exhibition keepers and Museum Guards.
3. On the grounds of the State Museum at Majdanek, the Museum and Memorial in Bełżec, and the Museum and Memorial in Sobibór it is strictly forbidden to:
- use open fire and smoke
- light candles (except in indicated places)
- touch the exhibits
- behave noisily
- eat
- use mobile phones in the historic buildings
- bring animals (except assistance dogs, signal dogs, or guide dogs accompanying persons with disabilities)
- consume alcohol or stay under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants
- organize ceremonies without the Museum’s management permission
- make recordings for purposes other than private use or flying drones without the Museum’s management permission
- guide tours without authorization issued by the Museum
- leave baggage unattended
4. The Museum grounds are protected and monitored. The information clause on video surveillance (RODO/GDPR) is available on the Museum’s website.
§ 3
Final Provisions
1. In matters not regulated by these Regulations, the provisions of Polish law shall apply, in particular the Civil Code, the Penal Code, and regulations concerning personal data protection.
2. Entering the Museum grounds constitutes acceptance of these Regulations by visitors.
3. The Regulations are available on the Museum’s website and at the Visitor Service Center.
