The State Museum at Majdanek warmly invites primary and secondary school teachers to take part in a free teaching seminar. The event will take place on 24 October 2026 at the Museum Visitor Service Centre.

The seminar continues a series of annual meetings with educators, focusing on the contemporary challenges facing formal and non-formal education. The aim of the upcoming edition is to reflect on the experiences of young people during World War II, as recorded in diaries and other personal documents. Reading these allows us to engage with the experiences, emotions and understanding of reality of these young authors. During the session, we will explain how we compile and prepare these memoirs for publication, as well as how we restore the identity of their authors. During the workshop, we will analyse selected written accounts together, focusing on the universal themes they contain, such as growing up, interpersonal relationships, loss and violence, and we will highlight ways in which these can be used in our day-to-day work with pupils.

Participation in the seminar is free of charge and is regarded as a teaching and methodology course designed to enhance professional qualifications; participants will therefore receive personalised certificates of completion and a selection of relevant publications.
