The first part of the text focuses on the functioning of the German Nazi extermination camp in Sobibór and the post-war transformation of commemorative measures applied on the former camp grounds. In the second the author – and simultaneously the curator of permanent exhibition about the history of Sobibór – discusses the key concepts of the exhibition presented in the new museum building. He also explains the selection of artefacts applied in constructing the narrative about the history of the site, and the curatorial decisions regarding the artistic aspects of the exhibition.
