Striped uniforms, Red Army troop caps, civilian clothes from life outside the camp – join us for the ‘Weekend with History’ and a unique workshop featuring artefacts not usually on display. During the event, you’ll have the chance to see up close items associated with the prisoners of KL Lublin. We’ll be displaying original prisoner clothing preserved in the museum’s collection and talking about its significance in everyday life at Majdanek. Participants will learn, amongst other things, why not all prisoners wore striped uniforms, how the SS camp system used clothing to dehumanise and stigmatise its victims, and how prisoners resisted this process and asserted their identity and dignity.
