Gifts for Survivors

An elderly woman standing under the Christmas tree is holding a parcel in her hands.
As every year, we met at the Museum with former prisoners affiliated with the Lublin branch of the Polish Association of Former Political Prisoners of Nazi Prisons and Concentration Camps to present them with pre-Christmas gifts. We thanked them for their presence, their contribution to preserving the memory of the Second World War, and their openness to meetings, especially with young people.

We also conveyed our best wishes to the former prisoners on behalf of the students of Stanisław Staszic High School No. 1 and Maria Skłodowska-Curie High School No. 5 in Lublin. We would like to thank the high school students for their involvement in preparing the packages, which will be sent to a group of nearly 30 former prisoners living in Lublin and its surroundings.

Together with the young people, we are continuing the tradition started by the late Zdzisław Badio, the long-time president of the association, who wanted to reach out primarily to former prisoners who were unable to attend the regular meetings at the Museum.
