Creating film and photography projects of dissemination or commercial character on the grounds of the Majdanek, Bełżec, and Sobibór memorials requires a permit of the Museum.

Filming and Photographing for Private Purposes

Creating photographic or audio-visual works depicting the grounds, buildings and exhibitions of the State Museum at Majdanek and its branches in Bełżec and Sobibór for personal use us free of charge and does not require a permit from the Museum.

Documentary Films and Educational Projects

Creating photographic or audio-visual works for the purposes of documentary films or educational projects within the Museum grounds requires a permit from the Museum director, and signing an agreement upon its granting. Applying for a permit must occur at least seven days before the filming date, and it is done by submitting the inquiry form available below.

Digital Content Creators

Contents intended for social media channels can also be created within the Museum grounds on condition of obtaining a permit from the Museum director and signing an agreement. Applying for a permit must occur at least seven days before the filming date, and it is done by submitting the inquiry form available below. The created contents must be verified by the Museum’s Communication and External Relations Department prior to their publication.

Commercial Projects and Feature Films

The Museum allows filming and photographing for the sake of feature films or commercial projects only in particularly justified cases. It also involves signing an agreement and fees dependent on the scale and character of the project. Applications for a permit in case of such productions must be submitted at least 14 days before the filming date. It is done by filling in the inquiry form available below.

Reports and Journalistic Materials

Journalists that want to photograph or film on the Museum grounds must obtain an authorisation from the Communication and External Relations Department.

Aerial Filming and Drones

Drone flights over the Museum grounds require a permit, which is granted only in certain cases of particularly important film productions and research projects. Applying for the permit requires filling in the inquiry form available below at least 7 days before the filming date.

Performing drone flights over the grounds of the State Museum at Majdanek and its branches in Bełżec and Sobibór is possible exclusively within the period set by the Museum director and in the presence of a Museum employee. The drone operator claims full responsibility for the entire flight.

ATTENTION! The State Museum at Majdanek is located entirely within the control zone of the Lublin Airport (CTR).

Photographic and audio-visual works depicting the grounds, buildings, and exhibitions of the State Museum at Majdanek or its branches in Bełżec and Sobibór must not violate the memory of the victims or insult the good name of the Musuem.
